Title : Marchin’ Already

Release date : 15/09/1997

Highest chart position : 1

Hectic touring in early 1997 followed the overwhelming success of 'Moseley Shoals'. After losing all sense of time Damon Minchella, upon realising that it was now Spring muttered, "Is March in already?" The next album took its title from those words, entering straight into the official UK album chart at number 1 following its release, knocking Oasis' 'Be Here Now' off the top-spot. Another sell-out tour ensued, with the band playing at a number of larger venues for the first time.

Hundred Mile High City

The theme tune to 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. 'Hundred Mile High City' was born at a concert at the Garden Hall, Tokyo in December 1996. During Steve Cradock's normal sound check, the 'Hundred Mile High City' riff emerged and instantly caught the attention of Simon Fowler and band manager Chris Cradock, who were standing at the front of the stage.

Better Day

Originally written in 1993, 'Better Day' tells us of the band's fight through the Fontana period and the lean years before 'Moseley Shoals'. In the song, 'Sonny' is Simon Fowler, 'Stevie' is Steve Cradock, 'Minnie' is Damon Minchella and 'Harry' is Oscar Harrison. 'Davy' is Dave Bates, head of A&R at Fontana, the man who refused the band's demo tapes for a second Fontana album.

Travellers Tune

Travellers Tune originally appeared as a B-side to 'The Day We Caught The Train (Acoustic version)', before being re-recorded with P.P.Arnold on backing vocals. The song was inspired by Ronnie Lane of the Small Faces.
